The things we do as mothers. Here we are, back at The things we do as mothers. Here we are, back at the emergency 🚨 entrance of the hospital. This time with a suspected broken left ankle. 5’2 me piggybacking 5’11 @imriojay . Such a ridiculous situation after breaking his left elbow only two months ago, after expressing sheer frustration, we had to laugh. Awaiting xrays now.

A huge congrats to our client @stellarossacoffee o A huge congrats to our client @stellarossacoffee on the opening of their newest store across Australia - Beenleigh. Here I am standing with the owner @katie.rollinson1 who has a long career in the hospitality industry and who I’m sure is going to nail this. If you’re like us and frequently go up and down the highway the main thing you need to know is it’s just a short diversion off the M3 and has a drive thru! It has great coffee and a great menu to suit most dietary requirements. They have a launch offer of a free coffee with any drive thru meal purchase today through to Sunday. Go support them!

So nice to run our first in person workshop on the So nice to run our first in person workshop on the #sunshinecoast today since February. We took precautions and had a maximum of 5 people (usually 8-10) and had all pre-packaged food. Many commented on how much they prefer in person learning.
We love online learning but in person is such a treat. 💕 🤓 See our @trainingcollect Facebook page for upcoming events online and in person.

Mum and my two lovely aunties Jude and Linda came Mum and my two lovely aunties Jude and Linda came and helped us paint and organise at home today. For four years been trying to finish a bunch of Reno jobs but there just isn’t enough hours in the day especially with all the extra tasks on the plate due to COVID. Today we knocked out painting all the poles around the deck (@matisseleavy was we my team mate on that - just like House Rules lol), while Jude and Mum finished painting the outdoor table and chairs. Kinda cleaned out the plastics drawers and linen cupboard and Mark did the gardens and a step area getting ready for a bit of a shindig in a few weeks. I made them creamy garlic prawn pasta for lunch to say thanks. Family are the best. Thanks guys! 🙏 😊 🍤 🍝
This message is as much to myself as it is to my b This message is as much to myself as it is to my business was partner @my_aesthete_life our staff and wider team, as it is to our clients, people we train and all the other hustlers and hard workers: thank you. ‘To pick ourselves up and get this country moving again, we will all rely on the never die attitude of our business community.
It will be the local businesses that keep our communities strong, and it will be the private sector that pulls us out of an economic slump. Get behind your local business, because they’re always going for us.’ - Mark Bouris.
I know I’m not the only one who is finding it tough right now. I’m tired. I’m working long hours (midnight often) for less money. We all are. But that’s how we’ll find our way out of this. ‘I think any bootstrapped business that has survived for as long as we have [is] used to fighting for survival. It’s certainly not the first time that we’ve faced an existential crisis, it’s just the first time we’ve faced one with the rest of the world’ said @kateadorebeauty. I couldn’t agree with this more too.
But it’s still tough being 13 years into business and feeling like you’re back in startup days. Despite openings still many clients aren’t trading. So we keep being there for them. We keep talking to new people. Rebuilding. Long hours. A gazillion extra tasks on your plate every day due to the situation you find yourself in. Submit your monthly P&L to keep getting job keeper. Adjust insurances. Kill off or reduce subscriptions. Adjust people’s hours. Adjust people’s roles. Allocate workloads. Find people to do the jobs that are still left over.
Talk to other long term entrepreneurs who are thinking of getting a job because anything would be easier than this. Talk to people daily who are thinking of starting a business because they’ve lost their job.
It’s like a fortress. Everyone on the inside wants out. Everyone on the outside wants in. Neither side is safe. But still I am optimistic for the future and I am fearful for the future.
But for today I won’t look too far ahead. I will once again go to work and do my very best for myself, my family and everyone around me.
